Welcome to Spark ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your digital privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Spark handles information when you install and use our browser extension.
By using Spark, you agree to the practices outlined in this policy.
1. Our Privacy Philosophy: Local-First
Spark is built as a local-first extension. We believe your prompts, templates, and workflows belong entirely to you.
- No Cloud Servers: We do not operate central servers to collect, store, or analyze your data.
- No Tracking: We do not track your browsing history, monitor your keystrokes, or collect analytics on your AI interactions.
2. Information Collection and Usage
Because Spark runs entirely on your local machine, data collection is strictly confined to your device:
A. Prompt Data, Snippets, and Folders
- What is stored: The custom prompt templates, folders, tags, and organization settings you create within the extension.
- Where it is stored: This data is saved entirely within your browser's secure local database.
- Our access: We have zero access to this data. It never leaves your machine unless you explicitly choose to use the "Export" feature to download a manual backup.
B. Chatbot Platform Integration
- What is accessed: To inject your prompts, Spark interacts with the text input fields of supported third-party AI web interfaces (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, and others).
- How it is used: The extension strictly reads the structure of the active page to locate the text box and paste your selected template.
- What is ignored: Spark does not read, scrape, save, or transmit your chat histories, account credentials, or the responses generated by AI platforms.
C. Quick Add Feature
- What is accessed: If you choose to highlight text on a webpage and use the right-click menu to save it as a swift shortcut, that text is processed.
- How it is used: The highlighted text is captured solely at that moment and instantly routed to your local device database.
3. Data Storage and Portability
- Data Retention: Your data remains in your browser storage for as long as the extension is installed. Clearing your browser data or uninstalling the extension may permanently delete your locally saved prompts.
- Data Portability: Spark includes manual Import and Export features. When you export, a file containing your database is downloaded directly to your computer. We never see or process these files.
4. Third-Party Services
Spark interacts with third-party AI platforms to streamline your workflow. This Privacy Policy applies only to Spark. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the privacy practices, data collection, or terms of service of third-party platforms like OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or any other supported AI provider.
5. Browser Permissions Explained
To function properly, Spark requests specific browser permissions:
- Access to supported AI websites: Required to display the sidebar overlay and insert your prompts into the text fields.
- Context Menus: Required to power the right-click "Quick Add" shortcut for saving highlighted text.
- Local Storage: Required to save your custom templates and personal settings securely on your device.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to comply with browser store regulations or reflect extension updates. Any changes will be updated directly on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
